Img26.pngNo matter what moral, religious, or political beliefs are practiced by the families and friends of transsexuals, they can still be touched by the transsexual experience.  It cuts across every culture, religious, political, social, and moral group.  Relatives and friends of transsexuals can be found in every town, city, state, country, and group, but usually they stay in the closet, hidden, and in isolation.

Transsexuals receive support from many places and groups.  Support of any kind for the relatives and friends of transsexuals simply does not exist.

Because there is no place for hurting, grieving, angry relatives to turn to many families are torn apart by the actions of the transsexual.  It is not uncommon for parents and families to disown their TS.  It is equally common for the TS to move to another city or state and stop communicating with their families.  Divorce, suicide, depression, alcoholism, drug addiction, siblings with severe problems, and families coming apart are not uncommon results in the families of transsexuals.

Public Speaker

As an ordained minister and an experienced transsexual parent I am available to speak at churches, civic groups, schools, or any other forum where concerned people are gathered with intent to understand and support the Relatives and Friends of transsexuals. We also have speakers available in the north east who have experience with a transsexual family member.

Community Support Groups

As RAF-T grows and families and friends become willing to come out of the closet support groups will be created in communities to provide live, experienced, hands on support for families and friends.

The gay community has PFLAG, we have RAF-T.

As an emerging 501(c)3 our work and this site is supported entirely by donations. If you believe that we work we are doing to support and heal the families and friends of transsexuals is important please consider donating to RAF-T. Relatives and Friends of Transsexuals are people who deserve as much care and support as their transsexual receives from the health care profession, politicians, and the press.
