What to do when your loved one tells you he or she is a transsexual and believes that he or she is a woman or man in the wrong body.

First: Get educated about Gender Dysphoria and Gender Identity Disorder.  Research the web, read books, read what transsexuals say about the subject.

Next: Do not surrender to the commonly held misconception that no one knows what causes it and there is nothing that can be done about it.

Get Help: If your loved one is willing to work with you to discover why they believe that they are a transsexual, get help for them:

The transsexual disquiet can be socially induced in apparently constitutionally normal males, in association with (and presumably prompted by) serious behavioral aberrations, amongst which are conflicted homosexual orientations and the remarkable male deviation now called autogynephilia.
